Jakarta Convention Center

Overview

assessment and analysis structure

The Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) project was a large-scale structural assessment and digital reconstruction initiative managed by our engineering team under PT. Sucofindo Indonesia. The project’s primary goal was to evaluate the existing building’s structural integrity, ensure its compliance with the latest Indonesian seismic code (SNI 1726:2019), and prepare comprehensive recommendations for possible retrofitting and strengthening.

As part of the Structural & BIM Team, our responsibilities extended beyond simple modeling. We conducted a complete as-built survey and verification process, integrating field data such as material testing (Hammer Test, Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity, and Rebound Test) and dimensional re-measurement into a precise 3D BIM model using Autodesk Revit. This model served as the foundation for the subsequent re-analysis in ETABS, where the entire structural system — columns, beams, slabs, and shear walls — was re-evaluated under updated seismic and live load conditions.

The assessment identified critical stress concentrations and load redistribution zones resulting from previous renovations, allowing our team to simulate multiple strengthening scenarios, including section enlargement, carbon fiber reinforcement, and load redistribution strategies. The outcome provided a full technical roadmap for ensuring the JCC structure met both current performance and future service requirements.

Resume

The JCC Structural Re-Assessment Project was a critical exercise in merging digital precision with practical engineering insight. By integrating BIM, field data, and advanced structural simulation, our team successfully transformed a decades-old building into a digitally verified, future-ready structure. The process demonstrated how engineering audits and digital modeling can ensure safety, optimize cost, and extend the operational life of national-scale facilities.
